Area to be managed for nature in perpetuity
What does the future look like for the Langness Peninsula?
Last week, it was confirmed that Manx BirdLife had secured more than 60 acres of grassland, coastal heath and saltmarsh with the help of Langness Golf Course Ltd and Nature Vannin Ltd.
It will now be managed for nature in perpetuity.
The charity says its 'long-term vision is to make Langness an example of how both nature and people can coexist and benefit from sustainable management'.
Managing Director of the charity, Allison Leonard, told Howard Caine the public won't immediately notice a difference in the area, beyond maybe some new signage:
And you can hear more from Allison and Howard in the latest edition of Spotlight on Wednesday (9 April) at 5:30pm.
