Service currently facing closure next month
An MHK believes there is a 'genuine will' to keep the Family Library going despite the service being due to close its doors next month.
The organisation is currently facing shutting down at the end of July due to a reported financial shortfall of £100,000.
An amended motion was approved in Tynwald this week for government to work with the Family Library to assess its financial situation and bring options to the court in October with the aim of 'securing valuable community services.'
Douglas East representative Joney Faragher - who brought forward the original motion on the matter - says whilst she was encouraged by this week's debate, a remedy to the situation is currently unclear:
