Island’s cyber security experts warn of scam emails targeting local Etsy sellers with fake account alerts
The Isle of Man Cyber Security Centre is warning local Etsy sellers to be on alert for phishing emails claiming to be from the online marketplace.
The scam messages often use fake urgency – such as saying accounts have been locked or banking details are required – and may contain suspicious links, poor spelling or grammar.
Officials advise not to click on links or reply, but instead log in directly via the official Etsy website to check for genuine alerts.
Suspicious messages can be reported to SERS@OCSIA.im and Etsy Support.
