Planning permissions turned down following concerns over impact of poles
A planning application to install telegraph poles to provide a fibre optic internet connection on a housing estate in Ramsey has been refused.
Manx Telecom had sought to add two poles to Barrule Park, stating in its application that underground ducting would be uneconomical.
Ramsey Town Commissioners raised concerns about the impact the poles would have on footpaths, and the negative visual impact.
Permission was refused, with a number of similar applications also turned down in recent months.
