The legislation is currently awaiting royal assent

The legislation - the first of its kind in the British Isles - is currently awaiting royal assent, having passed the final stage in the Legislative Council in March.
The bill inspired much public debate, with campaigners for and against the law protesting outside Legislative Buildings.
Alistair Ramsay says it was a huge milestone in 2025:
Work underway to remove asbestos from former Golf Links Hotel
Police raise welfare concerns about vehicle occupant
New EV charging points planned for Island's ports
Campaigners against offshore windfarm proposals hit out at 'undemocratic' process
