Chief minister provides an update in urgent statement in Tynwald
The chief minister has confirmed government is now proposing a five percent increase to the Island's minimum wage in April.
Tynwald previously approved a 9.9 percent rise, resulting in concern from the business community.
Alfred Cannan sacked Treasury Minister Alex Allinson yesterday, with new Treasury Minister Chris Thomas confirming a slower approach to minimum wage was his priority.
