The Mountain Road's likely to stay shut this weekend as a result
Police are urging people to take care on the roads this morning (Saturday 14 February) amid icy conditions.
A yellow weather warning for frost and ice is currently in place across the Isle of Man.
It'll be in force until midday after overnight wintry showers and low temperatures have turned the roads icy in places.
Meanwhile another yellow warning for snow and sleet will come into effect from 7pm.
Accumulations are expected to be 1-5cm in areas above 500ft, with the risk of up to 10cm on the highest hills.
That will be in force until 6am tomorrow (Sunday 15 February).
As a result, the Mountain Road is expected to remain closed until Monday 16 February.
The Department of Infrastructure says it will continue to monitor conditions and will reopen the route sooner if it is safe to do so.
