Haydn Minay Ltd founded in 1972
A family-run garage has announced it will close on 30 April 2026, at the end of its financial year.
The owners of Haydn Minay Ltd say they will complete all scheduled work throughout April but are unable to accept any further bookings.
The business was founded in 1972 by Haydn and Marion after they left E.B. Christians, starting out in a rented garage.
A larger workshop was later built in 1987, and the firm also ran a long-standing vehicle recovery service working with police and motoring organisations.
The owners say rising costs and the fact their children do not wish to take over have influenced the decision.
They’ve thanked loyal customers, some now into a third generation, and staff past and present for their support over more than five decades.
